planned
Giving
Your generous support of the Waverly Public Library Foundation helps fulfill our mission of enhancing and enriching our Library’s programs, services, and facilities.
A Library Legacy
Generous individuals and families may wish to include the Library Foundation in their estate and legacy planning. These planned gifts help ensure the Library continues to provide free access to excellent collections, technology, and programs for years to come.
The first step is deciding you want to leave a Library legacy. From there we recommend you visit with your professional advisors. Then meet with us to discuss options and together we can ensure your wishes are documented appropriately.
methods to make your planned gift
When you include the Waverly Public Library Foundation in your giving plans, your generosity strengthens our community. You may decide to include the Foundation in your will, or make a charitable distribution from your IRA as part of your annual giving. Whatever method you choose, we thank you for ensuring the Library can impact our community far into the future.
EVERY GIFT COUNTS
There’s no minimum donation and 100% of your gift goes toward Library support. All gifts are recognized on our digital donor wall. Since 1857, Waverly Public Library has worked hard to support community togetherness and life-long learning! Will you help us as we look to the future?
QCDs SIMPLIFIED
A qualified charitable distribution, or QCD, allows individuals age 70½ or older to donate up to $100,000 each year to one or more charities directly from a traditional IRA. Amounts distributed as a QCD can be counted toward satisfying annual required minimum distributions (RMDs).
By making a gift from an IRA to the Library Foundation, donors reduce their taxable income by the amount of the QCD and may avoid being pushed into a higher tax bracket. Be sure to consult your tax professional for the benefits and limitations that apply to your personal situation, and contact us for Foundation tax ID info to include on your IRA paperwork.
